Installation Tips
Congratulations on the purchase of you new wall hanging. Here are a few helpful hints for mounting this product. All wall hangings come with a cantilever cleat. This design will support the mirror on the wall if installed properly.
IF YOU ARE UNCERTAIN THAT THE BRACKET IS NOT SECURE CALL A PROFESSIONAL HANDYMAN OR CARPENTER.
Here is the standard installation procedure. Some applications may vary:
Drywall installations:
- Remove the wood cleat from the back of the wall hanging.
- Drill 2 holes spaced apart. Countersink if necessary for flat screw head.
- Scribe a pencil line on your wall with a level.
- Make a center mark on your wall and the wood cleat.
- Line up the bottom of the wood cleat on your line (predetermine desired height).
- Prepare 2 -3/16" toggle bolts through the cleat (or large screw if there is a stud). Pre - punch holes if using toggle bolts.
- Mount the bracket on the wall at your desired height. The flange needs to be away from the wall (not flush up against it).
- Finish secure and torque down on screw / bolt.
- Screw head must be flat, flush or partially recessed into wood bracket (to prevent damage to the back side of the mirror through the wall hanging).
- "Grab Hold" of the cleat to ensure it is secure!!!
- Carefully (2 people) lift the wall hanging up over the cleat until the wall hanging fits directly onto it.
- Check the sides to see that they are flat against the wall to ensure proper mounting.
- If not straight, remove the wall hanging and loosen bolts slightly. Tap on the cleat to reposition it as necessary.
- Re-hang the wall hanging and ENJOY!
